Wine tours, wineries, and vineyards to visit in Rensselaer County

Brookview Station Winery, Castleton

Open: Year-round; Mon.-Sat.
Located on the 100-acre Goold Orchard grounds (the oldest orchard in the Capital Region), this winery is the first stop on the Berkshire Beverage Trail and produces a variety of wines and fresh-pressed, sweet ciders. The farm store sells local jams, honey made on the farm, fresh baked goods, and cider donuts. “The winery has taken the farm into a whole new demographic. When we started the winery, it made us a year-round destination,” says Marketing Director Karen Gardy. Daily tastings, picnics, gift shop, corporate and private events, including weddings.
SIP THIS: Oh What a Pear — a semidry pear wine and the 2012 Finger Lakes International Competition Silver Winner; Whistle Stop White — Brookview’s best-selling, award-winning apple wine.
