This Week’s Pick: Fuji Apple

Find out all about the Fuji apple

Looking for something a little more exotic in your fruit basket? The Fuji apple was developed in Japan in the 1930s and named after the Japanese town of Fujisaki, Aomori Prefecture. It’s a hybrid of Red Delicious and Ralls Janet.

Taste: Very sweet, juicy, and crisp

Use: Eating, sauces, salads. Add slices on top of a pizza or inside a quiche; also good for jams, soups, and compotes. Sweet apples like this one would make a perfect homemade applesauce, too; try this recipe
