It’s no wonder Snow White couldn’t resist: the Cortland apple, with its crimson and gold skin and sweet white flesh, is best known as an all-purpose apple, making it perfect for desserts. (We hear Snow had a sweet tooth, you know.) The hybrid between McIntosh and Ben Davis varieties, it’s also used in fresh salads and fruit plates.
