Traditionally, visitors to Tannersville have been attracted to the town because of the natural beauty of destinations such as Kaaterskill Falls and Hunter Mountain. But recently, the town has also developed a reputation for its food choices, as well — ranging from elevated farm-to-table dining to hot, made-to-order donuts and cheesy delights.
Sean Mahoney, executive director of the Hunter Foundation, which promotes economic development and tourism in the area, says Tannersville is attracting young professionals for its cost of living and quality of life. That in turn has attracted restaurants. “The bar has been raised for dining here,” says Mahoney. We can’t help but agree. Here are just a few spots for your Tannersville food wish list:

An ode to drive-ins of days past, there’s both a retro vibe and food here. The twist – the beef is grass-fed and grain-finished, and the dairy products are organic.

This town fixture serves plenty of cheesy delights and other comfort food, as well as a great selection of beer. There’s also a country store with local goods and old-fashioned candies.
