Just when you thought you had heard it all, here comes (drumroll, please)… spaghetti and meatballs on a stick. Yes, you read that correctly. The brothers behind Coppola’s restaurants in Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park spent months perfecting their product. And while others have tried this culinary curiosity before, “we feel we have done it best,” says Luigi Coppola, who admits that the entire family got involved in testing out different batters and methods of wrapping the pasta around the meatball. You can sample the fruits of their labor at the Dutchess County Fair this month: $3.50 gets you one stick, along with their famous marinara sauce.
