Savor Every Bite of This Slow-Cooked Vanilla and Cinnamon Applesauce

It’s tasty, easy, and nothing like the grocery store variety.

After you make this easy recipe with Hudson Valley apples once, you’ll never want to purchase the grocery store stuff again.

Quick and easy, this recipe from notable Hudson Valley farm-to-consumer food distribution company Field Goods (temporarily on pause with deliveries) bears no resemblance to pre-packaged sauces found on supermarket shelves. To make it even better, go apple picking at one of the local farms in the region, then use your local haul to make a homegrown applesauce that will put all other applesauce to shame.

So what’s the secret to success? It’s all about that slow simmer. After dropping your ingredients in the slow cooker, let them muddle together for a few hours before mashing up to blend. From there, the only thing left to do is to savor the apple cinnamon scents that fill your house while you scoop into a cozy, warm cup of the tastiest applesauce you ever did try.
