The Patio at The Roundhouse, Beacon

Share

The food philosophy at The Roundhouse is simple: “Serve a variety of elegant, excellent, locally inspired, and seasonal American fare, alongside a curated list of the best in craft beer, cocktails to delight, and wine options to please anyone.”

The outdoor patio at The Roundhouse overlooks the picturesque Beacon Falls, which provided power as early as 1800 to the factories once housed in the historic structures. Enjoy a meal while you dine in the shade of the trees—or the table umbrellas—or stop by for drinks at the outdoor bar. With seating for over 90 on the patio and room for another 20 in the outdoor-bar area, the wait for a table during the summer tends to be fairly short.

If you prefer not to wait, or the summer heat is too much for you, the views from the main dining room and the lounge are equally beautiful. Not all dining areas are open on the same days or at the same times, so be sure to call or check online before you go.

The Roundhouse’s menu is driven by the seasons and what’s available in the Hudson Valley. The outdoor patio is open from spring through fall, and the menu changes three times during this period. Diners going there can now expect plenty of summer vegetables and produce on the menu.

Sunday Brunch is especially popular. If you’re in the mood for breakfast, try the buttermilk biscuits topped with homemade Berkshire pork-sausage gravy and served with poached organic eggs. If you’re craving lunch, the Maine lobster roll served with fries is a top pick, as is the Roundhouse Burger served with sriracha mayo, caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, and fries.

Reservations recommended; outdoor seating is first come, first served.
