While you can’t go more than a few blocks without tripping over a street-food vendor in New York City, here in the Valley our fast-food choices have long been limited to national chain restaurants or the occasional summertime hot dog stand.
But here to heed the call: food trucks, a variety of which are popping up across the region. Convenient? Yes. Healthy? Sometimes. A few even use locally sourced produce. Hours vary and many are weather-dependent, but whether you’re in the mood for cupcakes or quinoa, gluten-free hot dogs or super-burritos, these rambling restaurants are worth a look.
