Restaurant Spotlight: Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap Room, Big Indian

Enjoy farm-to-table fare at this Ulster County eatery

Owners Devin and Marybeth Mills brought a wealth of New York City restaurant experience to this funky eatery that has been serving up inventive, farm-to-table fare for more than a dozen years. While the menu is small, it packs a big punch with its signature slow-braised, beef short ribs, or one of the daily specials such as pan-roasted Arctic char with organic French lentils, roasted whole shallots, and braised leek beurre fondue. But first, take a peek at the appetizers: we love the house-made charcuterie board, the wood-grilled squid, or the roast cauliflower risotto.
