Celebrate Dia de Los Muertos With This Decadent Drink of the Dead

The killer cocktail recipe from Crown in Kingston pairs spicy chile liqueur with rich chocolate bitters.

Drink of the Dead

Carmen, a cocktail created by Pia Bazzani, cocktail creator at Crown in Kingston, takes inspiration from both Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos, the Mexican holiday celebrating the lives of deceased family members that also falls on October 31. By incorporating mezcal for a spirit and chocolate bitters for a treat, Carmen “resembles a rich, smoky, slightly spiced chocolate candy bar,” according to Bazzani.
