This Butter Cookie Dough Master Recipe Is a Holiday Staple

With this butter cookie dough master recipe in hand, you can make a plethora of sweet treats for any holiday party or table.

Ingredients:
  • 12 oz. softened butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cake flour
Instructions:
  1. Cream butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt in electric mixer bowl until fully blended. Add the egg yolk and blend until fully incorporated.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose and cake flours. On low speed, add the blended flours to the butter mixture and mix just until the dough starts to pull together.
  3. Turn dough on to a sheet of plastic wrap and press into a flat disk about 1″ thick. Wrap tightly and chill for about half an hour.
  4. Basic cookie shapes should be rolled out ¼″ thick and baked in a preheated 350° F oven for about 12–14 minutes or until lightly golden brown. The full recipe makes approximately 36 oz. of dough.
