With this butter cookie dough master recipe in hand, you can make a plethora of sweet treats for any holiday party or table.
Ingredients:
- 12 oz. softened butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cake flour
Instructions:
- Cream butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt in electric mixer bowl until fully blended. Add the egg yolk and blend until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose and cake flours. On low speed, add the blended flours to the butter mixture and mix just until the dough starts to pull together.
- Turn dough on to a sheet of plastic wrap and press into a flat disk about 1″ thick. Wrap tightly and chill for about half an hour.
- Basic cookie shapes should be rolled out ¼″ thick and baked in a preheated 350° F oven for about 12–14 minutes or until lightly golden brown. The full recipe makes approximately 36 oz. of dough.
