Westtown Fare Restaurant and Bar, located in Orange County’s super-fertile Black Dirt Region, can’t help but serve up farm-to-table cuisine, what with all the ingredients sprouting up right around it. The restaurant, which opened in January and sources ingredients from nearby farms, is the culmination of a life-long dream for spouses and co-owners Kristina and Stephen Ernst, who live above the restaurant and serve inventive twists on traditional French, Italian, and American dishes. Start the with mushroom tart before chowing down on rib eye soaked in red wine sauce, or follow a taste of delicate house-cured salmon with an indulgent vegetable pot pie. Cooked up by Stephen Ernst himself and sous chef Heather Kurosz, these farm-fresh dishes are only enhanced by the restaurant’s warm, rustic atmosphere.
