Joe Fierro, the owner of Hudson’s American Glory BBQ Restaurant, opened an outpost in Tannersville in August. Now, hungry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the same tangy treats his Columbia County patrons have come to love. Specifically, we’re talking about the Firehouse Red Chili (a 2014 Columbia County Chili Fest winner), Cajun catfish (griddle-blackened and topped with a cilantro-tomato salsa), and the North Carolina-style pulled pork sandwich: hand-pulled smoked pork dressed with a tangy sauce and topped with coleslaw, homemade sweet pickles, and onions.
Like the original location, this spot has music several nights a week, as well as a full bar. Customers can create their own tasting flight, choosing five samples from the hot spot’s menu of local brews, wine, fine Kentucky bourbon, single-malt Scotch, and rare Mexican tequila. The indoor seating is cozy and rustic, but it’s the outdoor deck overlooking the Sawmill Creek that steals the spotlight. “Our Tannersville location has an amazing outdoor space,” says Manager Dana Drown. “The sounds coming from the creek act as a natural soundtrack and add to the relaxed ambiance.”
