Races and Runs
The third annual Mother’s Day 5K in Kingston kicks off at 10 a.m. on May 7. Starting at the YWCA Ulster County Academy Green, racers will run or walk to the finish line at Keegan Ales, where a celebration — complete with awards and a barbecue — will follow. $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under who register by April 30.
The NYCRUNS Mother’s Day 5K & 10K both take place on May 8. The 5K steps off at 8:30 a.m. while the 10K is at 9:30 a.m. from Firefighters Field on Roosevelt Island. All racers will indulge in a post-race spread of bagels and fresh fruit. The top three male and female winners in each group will be awarded, plus by age division. Expect a surprise for all mothers and daughters at the finish line, too! $40 to register until online registration closes and $50 to register at the event if avaliable. NYCRUNS members will receive a 5% discount.
The Taconic Road Runners Club hosts a Mother Day 5K race and two-mile walk at FDR Park on May 10. Race kicks off at 9 a.m. $15 for pre-registered TRRC members, $20 for pre-registered non-TRRC members, and $25 for race-day registration. The first 250 registrants will receive a free T-shirt, and there will be awards for the top three overall winners and in each age division, as well as raffle prizes.
