This Westchester landmark has been in business since 1953. Deb and Brian Hopkins, who became owners nearly 16 years ago, are ice cream pros: they run a successful fleet of Good Humor ice cream trucks as well as a catering business. Why do they love the ice cream gig so much? “It’s such a simple thing, but it makes people so happy,” says Deb. King Kone fans love the soft-serve ice cream. “It’s still the original recipe. Where others have cut corners and gone for cheaper versions, we still serve the old-fashioned, rich and creamy style.” But beyond, soft-serve, there are 18 hard-scoop flavors per day, too. If you’re in the mood for food before your cone, be sure to check out their menu featuring lobster rolls, hamburgers, hot dogs, and other classic bites.
