Hurricane Irene is expected to hit New York’s Hudson Valley by Sunday, with residents doing everything they can to prepare: planning evacuation routes, double-checking batteries and battery-operated radios, buying bottled water, and stocking up on non-perishable food items.
Whether Irene comes at us with her best Category 3 game face or a wimpy sprinkle of rain, one thing’s for sure: You’ll be stuck indoors. The kids’ll get bored. And everyone’s going to attack the kitchen cabinets in search of snacks.
