Returning to the same restaurant in the name of a favorite dish is a comforting ritual. But there’s no better incentive for venturing into new culinary territory than Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Held November 3-16, the 11th edition of this biannual event is an opportunity for curious diners to partake in three-course prix-fixe dinners for $29.95 and lunches for $20.95, which are offered by nearly 200 restaurants from across the region.
“I love hearing from the people who dine out during Restaurant Week. So many write to us to say how they’ve discovered a new favorite restaurant; some dine out five, six, seven times during the two-week event,” says event founder Janet Crawshaw. “This is the best time to experience the harvest and get a true taste of the Valley. Restaurant Week makes dining out not only fun and delicious, but affordable, too.”
Although the list of participating restaurants was still being firmed up at press time, you can bet that a number of fine dining establishments will be on it. Local heavy hitters — such as celebrated chef Peter Kelly’s Restaurant X and Bully Boy Bar in Congers; Swift at the Roundhouse at Beacon Falls; and all three of the CIA’s in-house restaurants — took part in the springtime version of this foodie feast.
