Grab those wet-naps (and maybe some Tums) and prepare yourself for a finger-lickin’ good time at this year’s seventh-annual Hudson Valley RibFest. This two-day food fair hosts a variety of vendors who offer everything from fried pickles to ice cream. But barbecue is the main event here, with a number of grill teams (there were 70 last year) from throughout the Northeast competing for the title of Grand Champion and a portion of $11,000 in prize money.
Organized by the Highland Rotary Club, this barbecue cook-off is held at the Ulster County Fairgrounds and features performances by local musicians, cooking demonstrations, and — of course — plenty of grub for hungry taste-testers (more than 14,000 of whom attended last year’s festivities).
