Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the Hudson Valley

This Hispanic Heritage Month, try tasty margaritas at these Hudson Valley eateries to support local businesses and communities in Mexico.

Although the Hudson Valley is brimming with deliciously authentic Latin and Mexican food spots, we’re focusing on picks that serve tequila for a cause this Hispanic Heritage Month. From shots to cocktails, Astral Tequila gives back to Mexican communities with its sustainability initiative, which uses agave byproduct to create bricks for homes. Even if you’re enjoying Astral from your local Hudson Valley bar, you can be a part of this cycle of positive change from almost 3,000 miles away.

Fermented and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico, Astral Tequila is crafted using agave and traditional processes which result in leftover agave fibers. These fibers are then mixed with earth and liquid runoff from distillation to create adobe bricks for building homes for families in need in Jalisco and Oaxaca, Mexico. Astral’s Adobe Brick Project creates approximately two bricks per bottle of tequila and is proud to announce the completion of 10 homes under this initiative – made possible by its partnership with Habitat for Humanity Mexico.

To support this project and Hispanic Heritage Month, and just enjoy some tacos and ceviche, head to these Hudson Valley hotspots for fantastic cuisine and cocktails.
