A sister restaurant to the New Paltz Indian Restaurant, this year-old spot in Kingston’s historic Uptown District specializes in freshly prepared regional Indian and Bangladeshi dishes. The dining room boasts blonde wood flooring, cream-colored walls, and gauzy curtains; it is both spacious and serene. The wide-ranging menu includes staples (chicken tikka, samosas) as well as more unusual fare, such as Indian Bird (marinated quail cooked in the tandoor). A perennial favorite, shrimp biryani (pictured) is sautéed with herbs, spices, and almonds.
