The word “authentic” is thrown around liberally in foreign cuisine reviews, but in this case the overused descriptor is all but unavoidable: Co-owner/chef Stéphane Desgaches prepares French fare that leaves natives reminiscing about holiday dinners at the countryside home of grandpère. Guests in Bistro Brie & Bordeaux’s bright, light-filled interior enjoy classics such as the Croque Madame (grilled ham and cheese sandwich, topped with a fried egg) and the Truite Fumée (smoked trout salad, shown above). The restaurant serves dinner Wednesday-Sunday, lunch on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday.
