In 2005, Alessandra Tecchio (right) opened Dolce in Kingston’s Rondout since she felt the area was crying out for a good breakfast joint. And she sure created a good breakfast joint: Her creÌ‚pes have become so popular that she keeps 14 of them on her menu at all times, not to mention that an extra one usually makes an appearance as a special.
Ranging from $5.50 to $8.50, the thin pancakes come in both savory (like the turkey, avocado, and cheddar) and sweet (like the apricot marmalade and pumpkin, at left) varieties. Speaking of pancakes, Dolce’s flapjacks are offered in three variations: buttermilk ($9), gluten-free ($11), or organic buckwheat and spelt ($11). 845- 339-0921; www.dolce27.com
