Barnfest, a celebration of Catskills art, food, and culture, took place in June in Woodstock. Hosted by Catskill Mountainkeeper and Stone Ridge actress Melissa Leo the event honored several individuals and organizations involved with environmental advocacy. The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum held its Annual Champagne Brunch and Silent Auction on November 9 at the Powelton Club in Newburgh. John Bliss, Hudson Highlands Nature Museum chair; Honoree Jim Ottaway Jr.; Jackie Grant, Executive Director of HHNM; and Brunch Co-Chair Fred Osborn are featured here. On May 6, Hudson Valley Magazine presented its second annual Excellence in Nursing Awards, held at the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls. The event, which features a dinner hour, live entertainment, and dancing, coincides with National Nurses Week to honor the work and dedication of registered nurses throughout the Valley.
