Brooklyn Brewery's Beacon Bar Crawl Brings Discounted Food and Drink

Popular New York beer maker Brooklyn Brewery and email magazine Brooklyn Based have partnered to create bar-crawl-style neighborhood excursions to get Brooklynites out of their local areas every summer since 2010. This July, for the very first time, participants will venture outside of New York City to explore downtown Beacon.

Total Immersion: Beacon will be held Saturday, July 22 from noon until 6 p.m., and will allow attendees to explore local businesses and cultural stops throughout the day, while snagging exclusive discounts and a few free Brooklyn brews along the way.

Tickets are exchanged for envelopes of “WAM” (“Walkin’ Around Money”) vouchers, earning them a free Brooklyn Brewery beer at each of four select Beacon watering holes: Baja23, Dogwood, Draught Industries, and Towne Crier Cafe for $15. $25 tickets also cover lunch at either Baja, Stock Up Market, Meyer’s Old Dutch Food & Such, or The Vault tapas bar.

All ticket levels include a slew of discounts for local businesses along the route, such as 25 percent off all shoes at Echo, 20 percent off non-sale merchandise at home and fashion boutiques Kaight, Nella Bellas, and Style Storehouse, 15 percent storewide at kitchenware shop Utensil, $1 off ice cream or popsicles at Beacon Creamery and Zora Dora Paletaria, and even $2 off a Brooklyn Brewery beer at the Beacon Hotel. (If you’re wary of putting up your friends from Brooklyn for the weekend, the hotel is also offering a 10 percent discount on two-night stays for Immersion guests.) The event runs until 6 p.m., after which trekkers can enjoy live music and a free carafe of sake with any meal at Quinn’s.

Tickets are available for Total  Beacon Immersion via Eventbrite. As much about arts and culture as they are local businesses, Brooklyn Based has also partnered with Dia:Beacon and Storm King Art Center to knock $5 off their adult admission prices for Immersion goers on both Saturday and Sunday. For those feeling walked-out, the Inn and Spa at Beacon will also be discounting their spa services 10 percent just for mentioning Immersion.
