Summer calls for delicious cocktails that also beat the heat. How to consolidate the two? With boozy strawberry mint iced tea, of course! This recipe is made with Hudson Whiskey NY’s Bright Lights, Big Bourbon for big flavor. Based out of Gardiner, Hudson Whiskey NY produces all of its spirits at Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery. Started with the intention of being the first New York whiskey producer since prohibition, Hudson Whiskey NY was one of the region’s original craft distillers.
The Hudson Valley-based brand is known for its big flavors and bold whiskeys and bourbons, which are all produced with high-quality grains from local farmers. Hudson Whiskey NY is ever-evolving and constantly experimenting with new grains, blends, and cask finishes. The distillery’s Bright Lights, Big Bourbon is no exception. The spirit is a bold, grain-forward, no-holds-barred straight bourbon whiskey that’s distilled from New York corn and aged a minimum of three years in new charred American oak barrels. With notes of vanilla and lightly scented caramel, it’s a pour that you’ll want to mix into all your iced teas and mixed drinks this season.
This tea- and bourbon-based drink is perfect for barbecue season and too tasty to make just one. Mix up a pitcher and you’ll soon be the most popular person in town. As for when to make it, this strawberry mint tea is ideal for poolside hangouts, backyard barbecues, and even upscale summer dinner parties in the Hudson Valley. Pair it with everything from a refreshing Vietnamese rice noodle salad to any of your go-to barbecue recipes for a summertime match made in heaven. Of course, if you’re just looking for a refreshing drink on a sunny afternoon, this boozy mint tea is perfectly wonderful all on its own.
