If it’s been a while since you’ve had a really good burger, then a pitstop to this three-year-old joint is a must. Once a roadside bar, it has been transformed into a cozy 40-seat family-dining mecca. What’s not to love about it? Burgers are made with grass-fed, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef. Plus, the price is right. “We have kept our prices low because we don’t advertise,” says Ralph Turi, co-owner with his brother and brother-in-law. With burger platters hovering around $7 to $10 and kids’ meals in the $6 range, a family of four can dine well here — and take home a doggie bag — for under $30. Regulars rave about the grilled sliders ($6.59 for three). The bleu cheese crumble ($9.29) is a delectable combo of salty bleu cheese and juicy beef — add a sweet-onion topping and we’re talking heaven. Speaking of toppings, aside from the usual fare, you can get pickles, raw onions, grilled onions or mushrooms — even jalapeños. But it ain’t all meat: The veggie burger with avocado and grilled mushrooms has earned its own fan club, even among confirmed carnivores. Milkshakes made using Jane’s ice cream go beyond the usual strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate: Try green tea, toasted coconut, or cappuccino Kahlua calypso for a coffee kick. Closed Sundays. 845-344-2583; www.bluechipburger.com
