There’s a lot to love at this special little eatery that has long been at the forefront of the farm-to-table movement. Diners are always welcome to stroll the 70 beautiful, riverside acres — also home to the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa — and say hello to the coterie of animals or check out the farm or organic orchards. At the restaurant, which overlooks a pretty pond, customers chow down on a wide range of farm-fresh dishes, but one of the perennial favorites remains the fried chicken. The birds come from Campanelli Farms in Sullivan County, are fried up with buttermilk and a blend of “secret seasonings,” then served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies.
