Taking Up Space: Paintings by Monique Brideau

The Field Gallery Presents ‘Taking Up Space’, Paintings by Monique Brideau. A suite of the artist’s abstract nature and landscape oil paintings are on view April 4-29. The dark, mysterious large scale paintings average six feet in height. These energetic paintings are an exploration of surface, mark, texture and space. They are a journey into painted space formed through gesture and built up layers. ‘Taking Up Space’ refers not only to their size, but also as a nod to women artists who are not afraid to take up space.
Reception: Saturday April 23, 11:00-1:00pm
