Wednesday August 24: Garden Gathering – Kitchen Garden: Tomatoes and Peppers!
Join Director of Horticulture Claire Davis and explore the midsummer bounty of Locust Grove’s historic Kitchen Garden!
Learn about the heirloom varieties we grow and the organic techniques we use to keep our veggies healthy and productive throughout the growing season!
We’ll talk about choosing varieties, planting cover crops, and troubleshooting problems at a home-garden scale. With a focus on heirloom tomatoes and strategies appropriate for the mid-Hudson Valley, this workshop will help you grow some truly delicious and locally adapted summer veggies. And, at the end of the workshop, you’ll have a chance to sample some of our delicious tomatoes and peppers!
