Reading with Zoë & Friends was started on Facebook by a 9 year old 4th grade, Zoë inspired to read books to others as a result of the quarantine Covid-19 staying at home. She was inspired to do so after watching a 2nd grade teacher, Mrs Capen from Pine Tree Elementary School doing it on Facebook. In just over 8 weeks, a group of over 600 volunteers and donors, led by two Nyack artists, Bill Batson and Donna Timm, have created and distributed over 12,000 handmade cloth face masks.
