Henry’s at the Farm – Henry’s at the Farm Restaurant

Henry’s at the Farm is a jewel of a restaurant, tucked away in the Hudson Valley’s orchard and wine country, at Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa.

At Henry’s, contemporary American cuisine and sublime craft cocktails are only steps away from Buttermilk’s own Millstone Farm. Fresh eggs and honey, from Millstone’s aviary and apiary make their appearance on the menu and in craft cocktails, year-round. In season, fresh produce from both Millstone’s garden and orchard and from neighboring farms, is delivered to Henry’s inspired kitchen daily, making its way to your table at lunch and dinner.

Henry’s works primarily with those who practice organic farming and humane animal husbandry. Cheese, meats and poultry come from nearby farms such as Coach Farm, Taliaferro Farms, John Fazio Farms and the seventh generation owned and operated Hepworth Farm.

An inventive menu features fresh, dazzling starters, and a selection of large and small plates from casual burgers and hand-cut fries to refined New American dishes.

The concept of farm to table is an integral part of our signature cocktails, taking full advantage of the organic herbs, vegetables and fruits grown right here at our own Millstone Farm – at Henry’s, it’s known as “From Barn to Bar”.

Henry’s kitchen and floor staff prepare and present extraordinary meals in an environment that embraces the spirit of their food. It is at once elegant and rustic, refined, yet relaxed with a field of sculptural wine jug lighting, custom-made wall coverings and delightful views of Buttermilk’s Swan Pond.

Local comes alive in this bucolic setting, where a pre-dinner stroll is always in order. Henry’s encourages diners to stroll the grounds of Buttermilk’s Hudson River estate before or after dinner. A network of trails leads to breathtaking views of the Hudson River, flowering gardens, bubbling brooks, the property’s impressive namesake waterfalls and enchanting ponds. Diners may pass through organic orchards, and a lush kitchen garden, or visit our captivating family of rescued livestock that make Millstone Farm their home.

Henry’s at the Farm is the realization of a long held dream of Buttermilk Falls Inn + Spa owner Robert Pollock to establish a dining destination restaurant on the property – one that serves the local community, as well as the inn’s guests and whole heartedly embraces the locavore movement.

Millstone Farm makes your stay with us such a memorable and, in every sense of the word, an organic experience! * “Party” is the word used to refer to a group of peacocks.

Millstone Farm would be lost without its hives of Honey Bees. Worldwide bees pollinate more than 80% of all plants! Animal Rescue Sanctuary

Millstone Farm is home to pedigreed female alpacas formerly owned by Lloyal Nordstrom McMillan, granddaughter of department story magnate John W. Nordstrom, in Washington State. Hard financial times forced McMillan to put the animals up for auction. The organization, Llama Reserve spearheaded a national campaign, raising funds to rescue the animals. Buttermilk Falls’ proprietor, Robert Pollock stepped in to adopt the group, furthering the Farm’s reputation as an animal rescue sanctuary.

Livestock Barn

Angora goats, miniature donkeys, llamas and alpacas occupy the Livestock Barn, and family of miniature donkeys reside at the Donkey House. The llamas and alpacas are sheared annually. Buttermilk will be offering spun wools of alpaca, llama, mohair, cashmere and vicuna and promoting retreats for the fiber and knitting communities.
