Dave Miller Connector Trail
Beacon
Madam Brett Park has long been a gem, albeit a hidden one, in Beacon. Its trails hug the shoreline of picturesque Fishkill Creek, a haven for waterfowl and other wildlife. Now access to the park has been greatly improved via creation of the Dave Miller Connector Trail. Named after one of the city’s longtime greenway advocates, the new trail provides a vital link between Madam Brett Park, Denning’s Point State Park, the city’s riverfront area, and train station. Constructed by the city with support from Metro-North and Scenic Hudson (which owns Madam Brett Park), the connector trail also paves the way for development of the proposed Beacon Loop Trail, which will provide a scenic route from the train station to downtown shops and galleries. 845-473-4440; www.scenichudson.org
