Everyone in Brian Remaley’s world looked forward to his summer cookouts, when he’d serve Southern-style barbecue using closely guarded family recipes. In 2010, Remaley decided to let everyone join the party and opened a restaurant. It quickly became a mecca for blues, jazz, and rock artists, with live music every Friday through Sunday. The lively scene is enhanced by the great food and specials: Where else can you get a burger and fries with a pitcher of beer for $10? But that’s just skimming the surface. The combo dinners are customer favorites: a bounty of brisket, moist St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, tender chicken, and spicy andouille sausage with mix-and-match choices of collard greens, coleslaw, sweet potato, and other tempting fixins’.
