The biannual Barneys Warehouse sale in Manhattan creates quite a stir among fashionistas as well as regular working gals and guys who see it as their twice-a-year shot at snagging some serious designer duds. And although the ultimate booty may be worth it, shoppers know they are in for a tough day of retail warfare. Tales of ridiculously long lines, cat fighting, and shredded merchandise are now part of New York lore.
But you don’t need to worry about all that. Weeks before the Manhattan event, the Barneys New York Outlet store at Woodbury Commons (one of 13 outlets nationwide) holds its own version of the famous sale. And no lining up is required. From the middle of January into the beginning of February, and again from the end of July into August, the store offers some serious sales. Of course, everyday prices at the outlet store rival those found at the Manhattan warehouse sales.
