End of Summer = Fall Shopping!

As I walked up Fifth Avenue yesterday to obtain my daily dose of Jamba Juice, I couldn’t help but notice the massive white tents that have recently materialized in Bryant Park. These enormous structures should be no mystery to you, my devoted Valley Vogue readers — and anyone else who has an appreciation for fashion: Once again, Fashion Week has arrived in New York City!

Meaning, as you read this post, the spring ’09 shows are in full swing — and that fall fashion is in full force. It’s hard to believe the summer has already passed (although it’s definitely still warm enough to squeeze in a few more beach days!). But the reality is that, before we know it, the chillier weather will take hold and it’ll be time to pull out those cute collarless jackets (yes, they’re still hot this season) and don those riding boots (another fall must-have).

So whether you’re headed back to school or just returned from a luxurious vacation, the harsh “back to reality” feeling that’s setting in doesn’t have to be so terrible: you have a whole new wardrobe to shop for! Though reinventing your closet is a daunting task, you’ll be happy to know that you can still hold onto a bunch of pieces from last year: tights, skinny jeans, ankle boots, and thigh-length sweaters, to name a few. As you tackle this new season of fashion, be sure to keep in mind the points I highlighted from last winter’s post on Fall Fashion Week and take a look at our fashion spread in the September issue — which also serves as a great resource for finding trendy boutiques in your corner of the Valley.
