Hudson Valley Magazine’s 2nd Annual Burger & Beer Bash rocked the Poughkeepsie waterfront on Thursday, July 31, 2014. Held at the Shadows Marina, the event featured 19 local restaurants grilling up their signature sliders for the chance to be named the Hudson Valley’s burger champion. Guests also noshed on sweets from Moxie Cup and Rita’s Italian Ice.
Thousands of sliders were served, but it was the 50/50 short rib-and-brisket burger by Poughkeepsie newcomer, Mill House Brewing Company, that was deemed the night’s “Best of the Bash.”
Libations included Blue Moon and Coors Light on tap, courtesy of Manhattan Distributors; Doc’s Draft Hard Apple Cider from Warwick Winery; Dutch’s Spirits’ sugared moonshine; Voss Water; and Reeds Soda.
Crowd favorite Royal Khaoz got everyone in the summer spirit with reggae hits. By nightfall, the deejays of Music Speaks Volumes Entertainment transformed the tent into a riverside dance party.
charity & Prizes
Guests entered to win Renegades tickets, wine baskets, and gift certificates to local restaurants. Bash charity partner Food Bank of the Hudson Valley raised enough to provide more than 8,000 meals to the community.
