Apr 1: Murder Mystery Dinner It’s “Murder by Wine” as Dan Crunkle, of Sour Grapes Vineyard, is about to announce a merger to his dinner guests. Before the meal is served, someone will poison Dan’s sweet deal — and you’re either a suspect or a witness to murder. Apr 5: Vassar Swing Dance Each Wednesday during the academic year the community is invited to enjoy the beautiful space to learn the Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Foxtrot, freestyle and more. If you are shy, come by and enjoy the DJ music. No partner needed and no experience necessary. Beginners lesson from 7:30 to 8 p.m., dance from 8 to 10 p.m., Students’ Building (2nd Floor ACDC). Apr 19: Around the World: East & Southeast Asia This series brings together students from different regions in the world for good food and conversation. Apr 29: 4th Annual Spanish Spelling Bee Students from the Poughkeepsie School District from grades 4–8 will compete in the annual Spanish Spelling Bee. Apr 16: Gardiner Library Slow Jam If you’re new at playing an acoustic instrument and would like to practice with some friendly, local musicians to play folk, bluegrass, western and more, come to the slow jam. Participants play at a slower pace so everyone will have a chance to learn the songs. Apr 23: Antique Tractor Pull and Opening Day at the Farmers Museum What little boy or girl doesn’t love tractors? Watch as local farmers compete to pull the “Dream Crusher” down the track with their favorite tractors to gain the farthest pull. Apr 26: Farmers+Flea Market Check out the last date of this large indoor winter market,  showcasing local growers, food vendors, entertainment, artists, local community causes and information about the Poughkeepsie area.
