The Rockland Economic Development Corporation held its annual Economic Development Awards Luncheon at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern on Nov. 20. Nearly 300 people lauded the 2015 honorees, who were recognized for their contributions to Rockland’s economic vitality. More than 2,500 shoppers attended the third annual Hudson Valley Hullabaloo at the Andy Murphy Midtown Neighborhood Center in Kingston on Nov. 21-22. Regional artists, designers, and artisanal food purveyors peddled their wares; many reported record-breaking sales. 3. New York’s Metropolitan Club hosted the Olana Partnership’s 2015 Frederic E. Church Award Gala on Nov. 17. A Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration took place on Nov. 1 at the Mystic Cafe in Poughkeepsie. Hosted by Hudson River Housing’s Middle Main Initiative, the festivities included art displays, workshops, and traditional Mexican singing and dancing.

 

The Red Hook Chocolate Festival on Nov. 7 celebrated everyone’s favorite indulgence. Valleyites feasted on treats while enjoying cooking demos, live music, and vendor offerings. The annual Farm-to-Fork Feast was held at the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort in Highland on Nov. 12. The four-course dinner, auction, and raffle benefited the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. Ulster County Executive Mike Hein (right) and his wife, Christine Hein, were in attendance.
