Where to Eat: Holiday Dining

Here are the restaurants you should be looking to reserve for the coming holiday season.

Stagecoach Inn

Cozy and elegant, the Stagecoach could pass for Holiday Inn sans Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. On Christmas Eve, the inn will offer a special brunch in the afternoon, followed by a prix-fixe dinner with choices of either three ($65) or five ($85) courses. Select from opulent entrees like the oven-roasted goose with savory fig and hazelnut baklava and sautéed Brussels sprouts with pear glaze. Then, on New Year’s Eve, the Stagecoach team will again offer a Sunday brunch and prix-fixe dinner, only this time with five ($85) and seven ($125) course options. Who wouldn’t want to ring in the New Year dining on a mint-crusted rack of lamb or prime rib roast? Dec 24: brunch, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., dinner seatings, 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. Dec 31: brunch, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., dinner seating, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. • Goshen — 268 Main St. 845.294.5526. www.stagecoachny.com

New City Kosher Deli & Restaurant

Available for sit-down, catering, or take out, this Rockland County deli is the place to order Hanukkah staples like brisket, latkes, and matzo ball soup. Dining at home? Bookend the meal with a deli platter to start and delicate rugalach to finish.  Frankly, this menu runs the gamut from pastrami sandwiches to knishes to a standard roast chicken — the hardest part is deciding what to order. Deli under rabbinical supervision by Rabbi Israel Steinberg. Sun–Wed, 10 a.m.–8:30 p.m., Thurs–Sat, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. • New City — 282 South Main St. 845.639.4943. www.newcitykosher.com
