Not in the Wedding Party, But Part of the Wedding

A mother of the bride finds a special way to employ her young nieces in her daughter’s wedding

Dear Valley mother-of-the-bride: How sweet of your daughter to include her cousins on her special day! You could call them “usherettes,” “honor attendants,” or “bridal attendants.” You could also use “junior attendant“ or “junior honor attendant.” The only wording I’d steer clear of is “junior bridesmaid,” because to me that connotes that the young ladies would be in the processional/wedding party. I suggest that they dress alike, but differently from the wedding party. If the wedding party is wearing pink, for instance, the girls could wear a floral print with pink in it.
