Weird Wedding Traditions: Here Comes the Bride — Three Hours Late?

A groom-to-be questions a silly tradition abut the bride arriving late. The Wedding Guru sets him straight

Dear Valley Groom-to-Be: I researched your question and found that neither I, nor others, seem to know about this tradition of which you speak. As a matter of fact, some consider it bad luck for a bride to arrive late to her wedding. Being late to any event is bad manners — especially when there’s a whole group of people waiting! That said, make sure your bride wears a watch.

There are many customs, rituals and traditions that continue to be passed down from generation to generation. If you’d like to see what traditions are practiced around the world, check out my article “International Wedding Customs.”
