Last Stop Brewing Company Celebrates Grand Opening
One of the Valley’s newest breweries kicks off its grand opening with tours, food, music, and (naturally) beer
Last Stop Brewing Company receives its bronze medal from TAP New York
Poughkeepsie may be the end of the line for weary commuters riding the Hudson rail, but for those in search of a nightcap or place to relax, the last stop is actually about 10 minutes east.
The Last Stop Brewing Company, which founder Cliff Janicik describes as a “one-barrel farm brewery,” is one of the latest brewpubs to hit the Valley in recent months. It made headlines at this summer’s TAP New York Festival, where it snagged the bronze medal for its American Rhine wheat ale in the Best Individual Craft Beers (Hudson Valley) category.
You can taste the American Rhine during Last Stop’s official grand opening event this Saturday, August 16, from 12-3 p.m. Also on tap: Robber Baron, a Belgian Tripel with notes of plum, raisin, and grapefruit. Last Stop fills growlers for both beers ($5 for pint-sized growlers, and $15 for half-gallons); guests can also partake in tours of the brewery, jam to live music, and nosh on offerings (including non-alcoholic drinks) provided by the Beacon Bite food truck.
Can’t make it to the event this weekend? No problem: stop by the brewery during its regular business hours (Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 p.m.), or drop by Beech Tree Grille across from Vassar College, where Last Stop’s brews are on tap.
