New York Fashion Week Begins!
Hudson Valley Magazine’s guest style blogger The Girl in the Check Scarf reports live from Fashion Week
It’s Fashion Week in the Big Apple! Editors, buyers, and press from around the world are decked out in the latest designer duds and hitting Lincon Center for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, including yours truly. Yesterday I was in Manhattan for a few pre-fashion week events, and I can already tell you that Spring 2013 is shaping up to be a vibrant, beautiful season full of interesting prints and patterns. The Couture Report will supply you with all the trends, show reviews, and street style you’ll need to stay in the loop. Stay tuned!
But how can you get in on the action yourself? Well, you can do it without even leaving your couch. This year, dozens of fashion shows are broadcasting live via Live From the Runway on YouTube, meaning that you’ll see the looks coming down the runway at exact same time as everyone sitting front row. Better yet, you’ll have the best view in the house. Enjoy, and happy Fashion Week!
About The Girl in the Check Scarf:
Sarah Justine discovered the world of fashion at the age of 12 and she’s been in love ever since. After her family grew tired of listening to her rant about new designers, trends and ideas, it was suggested that she put her thoughts on the Internet. She started The Girl In The Check Scarf, a daily fashion blog, nearly three years ago, and her life has been an insane fashion roller coaster ever since. Sarah has been invited to attend New York Fashion Week four consecutive seasons, seeing dozens of collections and sometimes sitting in the front row. In 2012 she was named one of the “Top Ten Bloggers Under 18” by www.guestofaguest.com. She has worked with hundreds of brands and companies, including Claire’s, Oscar de la Renta, OnSwipe, and 3M. Sarah is obsessed with design and new ideas, which led her to present at TEDYouth in 2011. At the end of the day, she’ll still tell you that the greatest honor she’s ever been given is when her eight-year-old neighbor said she would be a really great mom one day. She is currently a senior in high school and resides in Poughkeepsie. Check out her work at www.thegirlinthecheckscarf.com.
