Maple Syrup Cookies with Walnuts (Recipe)

It’s maple syrup season! Here’s one of the Accidental Foodie’s favorite recipes:
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 3 Tbs butter
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 Tbs milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- ¾ cup chopped walnuts
- Melt the butter, remove from heat and add the maple syrup, egg and milk
- Sift in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly; add the chopped walnuts
- Drop rounded tablespoons onto a lightly greased cookie sheet a couple of inches apart
- Bake in a 400-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes; makes about 24 cookies
