Maple Syrup Cookies with Walnuts (Recipe)

It’s maple syrup season! Here’s one of the Accidental Foodie’s favorite recipes:

  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 3 Tbs butter
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbs milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  1. Melt the butter, remove from heat and add the maple syrup, egg and milk
  2. Sift in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly; add the chopped walnuts
  3. Drop rounded tablespoons onto a lightly greased cookie sheet a couple of inches apart
  4. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes; makes about 24 cookies
